In 1998, we managed to get a visa with Tom from the high school and Radek from the elementary school to travel to the USA. I lived in New York at Radek first.

Then I worked in New Orleans.I had very good work in movie theatre as operator. Funny was, when I was working one night and a fire alarm detected some smoke, but true was it was just false of technical device. But after twenty minutes, two strong guys came and were started checking the alarm. They asked me, what I was doing before the alarm detected any smoke, but I had to say just nothing. We talked about the life and after while some of them, called Mirek asked me: "Where are you from?" And He focus on my shoes Prestige made in the Czech Republic. I answered I am from center Europe and exactly from the Czechia. He was so suprised and continue, that They also were born in the Czechia. And than he said: " Why we do not talk in Czech language?" and I answered: "Why not". And than we started talk in Czech and become to be friends :) After almost half year night working, I bought camera Nikon N70 and took great journey across whole continent. It was long, long way by car. We drove over 4000 mils.

We passed several national parks. We saw Grand Canon and went down to the valley and swam in the blue- green Colorado river.

We saw thirsty horses in Utah, near Four corners (border of 4 states- Arizona, Utah, Colorado, New Mexico)

and Monument valley from the sand-stone sediments. We saw much more than I wrote here, but I have to say, I chosen the best :) For example also the path to the valley in Grand Canon, over which lead a coule of bridges over the Colorado river.

A swimming in the Colorado River at the bottom of the Grand Canon was breathtaking. One of the most interesting of them was embedded directly to the rock massiv. The greatest thing happened in the Mohave desert valley. We came to the village near Santa Fe and I saw in the Main square one man seating on the seat bench. This man worked on harvest. It was autumn crocus and it have to be dried at home. He said me, he know the Czechoslovakia and our premier Dubček from 1968, when Russians came to our country to occupy it. I was little bit suprised, he knows a lot of history and also because he gave me one pack of dried autumn crocus.

Then we saw also Mesa Verde and Santa Monica beach in Los Angeles. We then drove through tornado that caused extensive damage in Oklahoma City.

We also saw the Petrified Forest national park, Sequoja trees national park, Zion National Park, in the state Utah in city Santa Fe some guy looks like Indian gave me one sage, which I had to dry in my house, he said. Then We also saw Mesa Verde and beach in Santa Monica near Los Angeles.

We ran through a tornado during our trip that caused extensive damage in Oklahoma City, so we have lots of interesting memories.
